Resource Planning and Budgeting

Created in 2003, Resource Planning & Budgeting (RPB) is a service-oriented group reporting to the Vice-President Administration and Finance. RPB integrates institutional budget planning and institutional research and analysis.

Data-driven decision making

The RPB team supports data-driven decision-making in faculties and supports departments on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses. The RPB team's main goal is to help you navigate the complex governance and data related to the University of New Brunswick so that you can get accurate information on a timely basis.

RPB empowers integrated planning efforts which:

  • Align our institutional priorities with our institutional resources
  • Sets the foundation for assessing and understanding the current and future needs of faculties and administrative units across the institution by providing a comprehensive view of resources and commitments to ensure the alignment of resources with academic and other strategic priorities
  • Support the University's execution, assessment, and accountability cycle
  • Enables our leadership, teams, and individuals to rapidly respond to opportunities and challenges with a lens to continuous improvement through enhanced coordination and use of resources

RPB provides the university with:

  • Access to financial and analytical skill sets that supplement those in your unit
  • Access to accurate, transparent and timely financial data and institutional research
  • Help and support regarding all of the above as well as our annual planning and budgeting process
