Arash Habibi Lashkari 

Dr. Arash Habibi Lashkari is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of New Brunswick. He has more than 19 years of academic and industry experience. Dr. Habibi has been awarded 2 gold medals as well as 12 silver and bronze medals in international competitions around the world.

He is also the author of nine books in English and Persian on topics including cryptography, network security, and mobile communication as well as over 70 journals and conference papers concerning various aspects of computer security. His current research focuses on cyber security, big security data analysis, and the detection of malware and attacks.

As the coordinator of the Information Security Centre of Excellence (ISCX), Dr. Habibi is currently working alongside researchers, students, and industry professionals on a number of cutting-edge projects as well as on the development of various security-related datasets for test and evaluation of cybersecurity technologies. Dr. Habibi presently serves as the research and development (R&D) manager of an Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF) project on the design and development of an automated intelligent toolset based on the IBM’s QRadar platform that can analyze big security data to assess risks and mitigate security threats for large-scale systems. 

Dr. Habibi is also working with ISCX research team on the analysis of the network traffic and detection of online advertising fraud using artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques. Furthermore, Dr. Habibi is helping the ISCX research team in designing a new threat prediction and mitigation approach using behavioral analysis of users and big security data analytics.
