UNB has an exciting, ambitious vision for the future. One where we can better serve the province and our students and reach our full potential as an institution. To achieve our vision, we must increase research performance, strategic partnerships, online and on-campus programs and provide even more students transformative learning experiences.
A provost is the chief academic officer at a university and is responsible for delivering the academic mission and aligning academic and administrative resources. The position reports directly to the President and ensures the university provides students with the highest quality educational experience.
From spring 2021 to spring 2022, we consulted the UNB community to determine the best way to achieve the goals we set for the university in UNB Toward 2030. From those discussions, it was determined that a provost model is an ideal structure to address academic and administrative processes and inefficiencies, encourage better communication between the campuses and produce the best possible educational experience for our students.
