The Mactaquac Generating Station, a hydroelectric dam 20 kilometres from the City of Fredericton and UNB campus, is a landmark fixture on the Saint John River. The dam was built between 1963 and 1968 and has been subjected to considerable movement due to alkali-aggregate reaction. This session offers a unique workshop-style experience about 3D creation and analysis of virtual reality to document dam infrastructure from experts, while providing participants with an in-person, walk-through experience.
Transportation and lunch will be provided for the tour.
Note: This tour occurs during the same time period as our two workshops.
The newest building on UNB's Fredericton campus, the Kinesiology Building is a "kinovation" space for over 600 students and was completed in 2017. A light food break will the provided during the tour.
