Changes to UNB voicemail on Nov. 27

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, ITS must make important updates to UNB voicemail services. These changes are temporary until UNB’s new telephone services are fully in place this winter.

What you need to do (faculty & staff)

Once the updates are complete, those with voicemail will receive an email with a temporary voicemail PIN.

Use this temporary PIN to set your new voicemail PIN (you can reuse your current PIN) and greeting message

You must wait until after 12 p.m. (noon) on Nov. 27 to reset your voicemail PIN. If your voicemail does not prompt you to reset your PIN, please wait and try again later.

Note: You don’t have to be on campus to reset your PIN. See instructions.

How this impacts voicemail services

  • Any saved voicemail messages prior to the update can only be accessed in your UNB email — you will not be able to listen to old messages on the telephone.
  • New voicemail messages or missed call notifications may not be sent to your UNB email. This is still under investigation and would only be temporary until UNB’s new telephone services are in place. UPDATE: this has been resolved - you will still receive voicemail messages and missed call notifications to your UNB email.
  • Once the new telephone system is fully in place, you will need to reset your PIN and greeting message (additional communications will be sent to you).

Why is this necessary?

UNB’s current voicemail technology has an end-of-life of Dec. 1, 2019. An alternate, temporary solution needed to be in place before this date to ensure continued voicemail services for the university.

Attend a campus town hall
