Determine your eligibility

Essential information: You should not travel to Canada if you do not meet both of the following criteria – as you will likely not be able to enter.

Travel exemptions

On Oct. 21, 2020 the travel exemptions changed for International Students travelling to Canada.

International students are now allowed to travel and enter Canada if the meet the following requirements:

Travel to Canada will be considered essential (non-discretionary) if you have all the required documents and your DLI is on the approved list.

As a student, your travel to Canada won’t be considered essential (non-discretionary) if:

  • Your study program has been cancelled or suspended
  • You are entering Canada for any reasons other than to study

This applies to all International Students, whether you are travelling from the United States or from any other country.
