A Celebration of Spirit

In 2010-11, the University of New Brunswick marked its 225th anniversary, an important milestone in our history and an occasion to showcase our accomplishments and reinforce our significant role in Canadian education.

Almost every on-campus activity, from concerts and lectures to sporting events and graduation ceremonies, was incorporated into the 225th anniversary celebrations.

A series of speciMembers of the UNB community in front of historic Sir Howard Douglas Hall at Homecoming 2010al events gave us the opportunity to gather as a community to examine the people and values at the core of UNB.  Visit the Events page to learn about our Celebration of Canadian Spirit in Toronto, the Beaverbrook Celebration of Generosity in Fredericton, the Petition Celebration in Saint John, and more.

We also launched an architectural history of the university, celebrated homecoming, unveiled artwork, feted past presidents, and engaged the greater community through the Changing New Brunswick Series of Conversations and the Ideas That Matter Lecture Series.

Be sure to check out Our Stories, From the Archives, and the Traditions sections of the website to learn more about what makes UNB special.
