Chris Baker

Chris Baker is the President of Continuum Research, a public opinion consultancy focusing on strategic planning, public policy and communications that he founded in 2003. He took time away from the firm to serve as the Deputy Minister of Policy and Priorities for the Government of New Brunswick. In addition to serving as the Chief Policy Officer of the provincial public service, he coordinated the activities of the Policy and Priorities Cabinet Committee and was the founding Deputy Minister for the Secretariat for Community Non-Profit Organizations.

Mr. Baker has provided research-based policy advice and strategic planning to many federal and provincial government departments as well as a variety of private sector clients. Mr. Baker has contributed articles to the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, CBC Commentary, the Telegraph-Journal (NB) and other regional and local media outlets. Formerly a contributing editor with The Hill Times, Mr. Baker was appointed to the editorial advisory committee of Canadian Government Executive in 2007.

He is a member of the Board of Governors for Theatre New Brunswick and a member of the Institute for Public Administration in Canada, the Canadian Political Science Association and the Rideau Club.
