YOUR FOCUS:

- Assist in the development of projects relating to energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Assist in the preparation of energy improvement project audits.
- Liaise with Project Group to maintain an inventory of energy projects currently under development.
- Indicate the stage of construction, financial and milestone updates.
- Carry out regular walk-through inspections of energy projects under construction. Provide written status reports and raise any issues to the Energy Manager for follow up.
- Prepare and as directed submit applications for incentives with Provincial and Federal government agencies. Track status of accounts once approved, write, and provide updates as appropriate and required.
- Monitor and track utilities and emissions data. Investigate anomalies and make suggestions for corrective reports.
- Prepare written technical submissions for the Energy Manager to deliver to the Energy Management Committee, including requests for approval of new energy improvement projects and reconciliation reports.
- Prepare agendas, record, and publish the minutes of Energy Management Committee meetings.
- Prepare emission reports for federal, provincial, and municipal government departments.
- Prepare annual written report to Board of Governors for Energy Management, recycling initiatives and any other reports as maybe requested by the Energy Manager.
- Pursue opportunities to add new smart utility meters within energy improvement projects and explore possibilities to retrofit existing metering to the campus controls, building automation systems and surveillance system.
- Assist the Energy Manager with the preparation of utilities budgets and establish budgets for energy projects approval.
- Calculate potential energy savings, simple and discounted paybacks and reconcile completed energy projects.
- Identify annual budget requirements for metering certification and expansion across campus.
- Produce financial charts, spreadsheets, and graphs to demonstrate the usage of utilities on campus.
- Using BAS, monitor building performance and verify energy project performance. Make energy use visible to campus and engage campus community to reduce campus energy use.

- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation/Controls Engineering Technology or combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in an engineering or maintenance environment which may include mechanical/electrical design, HVAC, building Automation Systems, facilities management, energy-related design, project management, construction, planning, cost estimating, problem solving, maintenance management systems and general maintenance of utility systems or implementation of energy efficiency programs or projects.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with APEGNB or NBSCETT as a P. Eng, PPptech or CET.
Additional Strengths
- A LEED or CEM designation, knowledge of Canadian and local building codes and standards, the NB Boiler Pressure Vessel Code, the National Energy Building codes would be an asset.
- Must be able to prioritize, organize and manage dynamic workload; having excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to pay attention to detail, be results oriented and professional.
- Must be computer literate including proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing and scheduling software.
