YOUR FOCUS:

 

 

 

Reporting to the Department Chair, the Secretary PL3 (Administrative Assistant) is responsible for the management of assigned aspects of the administrative operation of the General Office. Provide partial administrative support to the Department by fulfilling duties concerning the Math Learning Center, Teaching Support, and Outreach Activities as assigned by the Department Chair.

  • Post-secondary education in business or related field.
  • Equivalent training and experience may be considered.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UNB (Fredericton) is one of the major academic units in the Faculty of Science responsible for teaching, research, and outreach. The department is responsible for teaching nearly 6,000 students per year and supervising 30 post-graduate students and several post-doctoral fellows. The department also runs major outreach activities such as the annual NB Math Contest.

 

 

 

This position is part of the UNIFOR, Local 4504 employee group and falls under the SALAC Collective Agreement.
