Salary Range:
$22.02 - $26.05 per hour

YOUR FOCUS:
- Hire, train and supervise student assistants and work study student(s).
- Supervise all aspects UNB Fredericton Loans and the UNB Fredericton Student Loans Administrator, and staff who process loans for Fredericton campus. Support clerks during peak loan processing times.
- Make payment arrangements via email for both campuses and negotiate plans for those who cannot meet regular criteria. Follow-up on payment plans that are not being kept.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Prepare new program cost forms for NB student loans.
- Import student loan funds from NSLSC.
- Issue refunds, weekly direct deposit refunds and credit card refunds (when appropriate).
- Collaborate with UNB Financial Aid to process US Direct Loan funding. Confirm enrolment every 60 days of all US loan funded students.
- Draw down funds from the G5 and balancing the G5 account and receipt funds once they arrive and email students to advise of their loan arrival.
- Prepare year-end documentation required for US annual external student loan audit.
- Prepare and analyze various financial monthly reports.
- Process payments from Collection Agency. Prepare payment requisition to cover monthly commissions on collections accounts. Clear any credits from collections accounts to be applied to commissions owed.
- Act as Supervisor of Student Accounts & Receivables when coverage is needed due to absence.
- Provide full supervision on weekly rotation for all full-time staff.
- Other duties and special projects, as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Post-secondary education in a related field. An undergraduate degree is preferred.
- Five years of related customer service and account management experience including supervisory experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- Experience in a high-volume academic environment with an emphasis on student accounts is a definite asset.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures, collection of accounts receivable guidelines, and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines as they apply to taxable benefits.
- Typing skills and knowledge of latest versions of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to organize and prioritize own work. Attention to detail is a must.
- Experience in Ellucian's Colleague will be considered an asset.
- Exceptional people, telephone and email skills demonstrating discretion, tact, and judgement.
- Must be willing to participate in job-related courses for a computer-oriented and customer service environment.
