$20.45 - $23.75 per hour

YOUR FOCUS:
- Respond to informational and directional questions at the Research Help Desk and Circulation Services Desk, a task which presupposes knowledge of library policies and procedures, established reference interview techniques, print and online reference collections, the library's online catalogue and other licensed electronic resources.
- Troubleshoot computer and/or student copying, printing, and scanning, issues, referring more complex issues to technical support as required.
- Circulate library materials, process fine payments, answer directional questions, and refer people to appropriate service.
- Shelve materials and assist with the maintenance of the UNB Libraries' print collections.
- Search online library catalogues, specialized collections, electronic and print catalogues of publishers and vendors when requested by Librarians.
- Attend training sessions and departmental meetings as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as required, including capturing hourly head counts, processing of materials, office duties, etc.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- A university degree, supplemented by 3 years' library experience, preferably in an academic environment.

- Strong public service orientation and skills in addressing diverse patrons' needs with discretion, patience, and courtesy.
- Superior search skills, coupled with knowledge of the library catalogues, databases, and other licensed resources, along with an understanding of publishing types and media.
- Demonstrated skills with office productivity software (MS office, especially Word and Excel).
- Ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing and busy environment.
- Demonstrated excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision, and as a team member.
