Salary Range:
$52,804.00 - $68,651.00 per annum

YOUR FOCUS:
- Help build UNB's profile and reputation through earned media.
- Position UNB Faculty and Alumni as thought leaders in the media.
- Support to UNB community with media requests.
- Help develop and implement a proactive media relations strategy that integrates with the larger communications strategy at UNB.
- Develop and foster relationships with key media stakeholders.
- Serve as the University's primary liaison with the media.
- Analysis of media requests and recommend responses.
- Manage media listening, monitoring, and reporting.
- Develop and deliver media training.
- Assist in the development of media relations for various campaigns.
- Collaborate on crisis communications.
- Regularly provide insights gained from monitoring to help evolve SCM strategies quickly.
- Sit on committees as a representative for SCM leadership.
- Other assignments and projects to support the health, growth, and productivity of the SCM team.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Undergraduate degree in communications or journalism with a minimum of 5 years in the field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Strengths
- An exceptional storyteller.
- Demonstrated ability to write and produce high-quality content such as press releases, commentaries, op-eds, speeches and brand journalism. Strong media relations experience as well as media training.
- Able to connect naturally with a wide variety of people, foster positive relationships, and contribute to a positive working environment.
- A professional and competent communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and professionalism.
- Able to focus on detailed tasks and work to deadlines.
