The University of New Brunswick Saint John welcomes applications for the position of Employer Engagement & Opportunity Specialist with the Faculty of Business. This is a one-year term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $46,244 - $60,114 per annum.
Reporting to the Director of the MBA Program, the Employer Engagement Specialist is responsible to manage the BCP process from end to end; identifying funding sources, securing high quality BCPs, guiding the placement/matching process, liaising with employers/students, and managing faculty supervisors as required, purposeful relationship building and post BCP employer follow up is expected.
Position Summary:
- Develop and implement a strategic employer engagement and retention strategy.
- Implement an end-to-end monitoring, mapping, and evaluation as part of the retention strategy.
- Engage, acknowledge, and promote employers, students, and outcomes across the broader community.
- Identify, recruit, engage, and retain potential employers.
- Coach, support, and coordinate position development, posting, interviewing and hiring, and follow-up support.
- Develop strategic relationships with government, community organizations, and other relevant agencies.
- Represent the MBA on relevant committees and at community events.
- Develop strategic initiatives to communicate and promote post-graduation employment opportunities.
- Coach and support students through the BCP process.
- Develop and implement an end-to-end continuous student engagement strategy.
- Develop strategic relationships with funding sources, including government and other relevant agencies.
- Collaborate with other internal UNB departments effectively.
- Keep abreast of relevant government programs, policies, and procedures.
- Provide required reporting and data analysis associated with funding sources.
- Develop and propose a yearly budget and operate within an approved budget amount.
- Propose and submit yearly work plan with target outcomes.
- Develop and populate a Strategic CRM database, integrated into a larger Program CRM, for historical tracking of BCP activity, reporting and contact information.
- Collect data strategically and regularly for analysis and reporting for AACSB, program, and planning and evaluation purposes.
- Ensure accurate and timely process mapping related to job functions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements/Skills:
- Undergraduate Degree in business administration. MBA would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in sales with a proven track record of results.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Proven professional network and familiarity with the University Environment and MBA education.
- An aggressive schedule of external engagement (may include travel) is expected.
