The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Marketing & Communications Officer with the Faculty of Kinesiology. This is a 2-year, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $41,093 - $51,365 per annum.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Marketing & Communications Officer is responsible to assist with marketing and communication functions for REDS (Athletics, Recreation & Operations) programs and services, and support the Faculty of Kinesiology with marketing and communication planning.
Position summary:
- Lead the editing and vetting of communication policies and procedures.
- Support the Faculty of Kinesiology with its marketing plan.
- Develop and implement a file storage plan for articles, photography and videos.
- Responsible for the distribution of content for articles and special announcements (community articles, media releases, etc.).
- Responsible for ongoing communication of REDS cancellations, and closures.
- Lead the tracking and reporting of website and social media analytics.
- Serve as a REDS liaison.
- Assist with the development and implementation of both strategic and operational communication activities for the REDS, and when necessary, with Kinesiology Faculty and Kinesiology Facilities.
- Assist with development and implementation of social media and marketing etiquette guidelines.
- As part of a team, manage the REDS media accounts including website refresh, website content, ongoing communication of REDS policies.
- Assist with planning and organizing of large-scale events hosted by REDS.
- Support the development and management of marketing for both strategic and operational activities.
- Aid in the advancement of the REDS digital presence, including the REDS website, social media, digital screens, email, and radio messaging.
- Assist with the creation and implement an integrated REDS marketing campaign.
- Coordinate photography and videography for the REDS.
Requirements/Skills:
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business administration or another related field.
- 1-3 years of proven experience in a marketing and communication field.
- Highly organized, creative & attentive.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively, independently and with others.
- Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustration, lnDesign) and website management experience is required.
