The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Marketing & Communications Officer with the REDS. This is a 2-year, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $45,244 - $60,114 per annum.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Marketing & Communications Officer is responsible for all marketing and communications functions for REDS (Athletics, UREC & Facilities) programs and services as well as supporting Kinesiology marketing and communication planning.
Position summary:
- Assist with development and manage marketing both strategic and operational activities for REDS.
- Advance the REDS brand through managing REDS' digital presence, including the REDS website, social media, digital screens, email, and radio messaging.
- Assist with creation and assist in leading integrated marketing campaigns such as responsible for the design and publication of REDS marketing materials such as displays, promotional items and temporary signage.
- Assist in sourcing and managing vendor relationships.
- Manage marketing & communications budget.
- Coordinate photography and videography for UREDS and manage the storage of files.
- Support the Faculty of Kinesiology in its marketing planning.
- Develop and manage both strategic and operational, communications activities at REDS, and when necessary, with Kinesiology Faculty and Kinesiology Facilities.
- Lead issues management as it related to communication and marketing.
- Develop and maintain a social media guideline and a marketing booth etiquette guideline.
- Manage all aspects of the RED’s media accounts including a website refresh, management of website content, track and report website and social media analytics.
- Communicate RED's policies, cancellations, and closures.
- Edit and proof-read communication policies and procedures.
- Create and distribute content for articles and special announcements (community articles, press releases, etc.)
- Serve as REDS liaison.
- Assist in the planning and organization of large-scale events hosted by REDS.
Requirements/Skills:
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business administration or another related field. Master's degree is considered an asset.
- 3-5 years' of proven experience in a marketing and communication field.
- Highly organized, creative & attentive.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and with others.
- Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustration, lnDesign) and website management experience is an asset.
