The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Secretary PL4 (Client Services Representative) with the College of Extended Learning. This is a 2-year term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with the SALAC employee group. The position is funded by the University Budget with a salary range of $20.45 - $23.76 per hour.
The Secretary PL4 (Client Services Representative) acts as the first point of contact for clients and other members of the public and University community for CEL. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide clients with accurate information, registration, and fee payment services for the wide variety of programs and courses offered. On a weekly basis, the incumbent handles hundreds of client interactions (providing information, course registration and fee payments) in person, by phone and electronically.
Position summary:
- Provide customer service to students and other members of the public and university community by telephone, e-mail, and at the reception counter in a professional, courteous, and confidential manner.
- Provide personalized, timely, and accurate responses on a wide variety of programs and course offerings.
- Carry out financial transactions, such as payment of fees, with a high degree of accuracy and responsibility.
- Reconcile payments daily and/or student balances.
- Provide accurate data input to the student systems for registration and record updates.
- Carry out regular filing duties for college filing system.
- Provide administrative support services for CEL staff as required and approved by supervisor.
- Operate all standard office equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements/Skills:
- 2-year Business Administration Diploma. A university degree in related field is considered an asset.
- 3+ years' related experience in a client service environment. Equivalent combination of training and experience would be considered.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Colleague platform would be an asset.
- Knowledge of accounting principles considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating discretion, tact, and judgment, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills and orientation.
- Well-organized, able to handle many tasks at once, and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Bilingual English and French would be considered an asset.
