The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Research Assistant (Quantitative) with the Faculty of Law. This is a part-time (variable hours per week), term position ending June 30, 2022. The position is funded by external monies.
Funded through Health Canada, and in partnership with Reproductive Justice New Brunswick and Clinic 554, Drs. Jula Hughes and Tobin Haley are conducting research on barriers to procedural abortion in New Brunswick. This is a mixed-methods research project with a team of scholars, practitioners, and community members from across the province.
The Research Assistant will support the work of Drs. Hughes, Haley, Taylor, and Pearlston on the Clinic 554: Abortion Access in New Brunswick Project.
Position summary:
- Populate and maintain online survey using Interceptum.
- Analyze quantitative survey data.
- Populate quantitative visuals (e.g., graphs).
- Prepare drafts of interim and final reports and peer reviewed articles.
- Other duties, as required.
Requirements/Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in the social sciences, nursing, social work, history, or a cognate discipline OR be close to completion with previous research experience.
- 1 - 2 years' experience in quantitative research analysis
- Proficiency in SPSS, Qualtrics or similar statistical software.
- Proficiency in French an asset.
