The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Data Services Coordinator with the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data & Training (NB-IRDT). This is a 1-year term with the possibility of extension, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $46,345 - $60,248 per annum.
A member of the Data Services Team, the Data Services Coordinator contributes towards data transfer, access and privacy compliance of personal information and personal health information held in the secure custody of NB-IRDT.

Position summary:
- Coordinate internal process/resources in securing external data business owner/custodian data sets, enable internal and external researchers access to secure data and ensure compliance with NB-IRDT role as a research data centre.
- Establish and enhance relationships with external partners, other data business owners/custodians, and researchers.
- Oversee and coordinate the completion and review of data sharing agreement templates, data access applications, data access agreements, confidentiality agreements and related documents with data business owners/partners and researchers in preparation for review and signature.
- Maintain an exhaustive tracking database for comprehensive documentation for data transfer, data access and/or compliance processes.
- Monitor data set renewals, user access agreements and annual reporting requirements for completion of renewal processes and compliance obligations. Communicate with partners and queue internal staff to perform their roles with processes.
- Work with the NB-IRDT Privacy Officer (Data Services Manager) to assist data business owners/custodians and researchers to address privacy and confidentiality requirements for data transfer, access, use, retention, and disposition of personal information and personal health information held in the custody of NB-IRDT.
- Identify and contribute to process improvements for data services to ensure business continuity and sustainability of NB-IRDT under its strategic plan.
- Set meeting dates and arrangements, maintain Committee membership, take and distribute meeting minutes and serve as the liaison between the members and NB-IRDT.
- Support administrative data privacy related projects lead by NB-IRDT and data network partners and initiatives.
- Project coordinator of special projects in relation to the operation, development, and growth of NB-IRDT.
- Provide regular updates for reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Representation on committees, as required.
- Perform other duties, as directed.
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field, or at least five years' experience in other coordination roles.
- Experience with research environments. Experience with privacy compliance or privacy legislation would be an asset.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well with large and diverse teams. Ability to work under pressure.
- Functionally conversant in both French & English would be an asset.
