The University of New Brunswick Saint John welcomes applications for the position of Academic Programming & Student Development Specialist with the Faculty of Business. This is a term ending September 30, 2022, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $47,167-$61,316 per annum.
This position is responsible for the academic components of the UNB Saint John MBA program for both faculty and students. This position is the contact point for both students and faculty with respect to policy and regulations, provision of feedback or questions and mitigation of conflict or misconduct.
Position summary:
- MBA representative on AACSB oversight committee. AACSB related academic management; AOL assessment activities, PLO and CLO review, management and monitoring.
- Collect, analyze and prepare reports, based on academic and student data, to support program, partnership and GAU activities.
- Manage and review course outlines within AACSB requirements. Implement and adapt common course outline.
- Develop/update, review and implement student-focused policy and regulations documents including student handbooks and website content.
- Manage classroom challenges and support faculty, including Group Formation and conflict resolution. Schedule regular Instructor and student feedback sessions throughout individual modules. Acquire and manage exam proctors and markers to support faculty.
- Identify and manage students at risk.
- Support the student appeals process.
- Recruit mentors and manage the mentorship program.
- Develop, implement and manage a suite of personal and professional development programming.
- Develop, implement and manage an orientation program for incoming students and student on-boarding activities.
- Manage advance standing and transfer credit assessment, as well as scholarship application & award activities.
- Develop customized programs of study for individuals and organizations. Manage micro-credential programming.
- Collect and analyze academic data to support new program development, curriculum, stream, and program reviews.
- Build and maintain Alumni relationships. Collect and manage alumni data including post graduate employment data.
- Prepare budget request and manage budget allocation for activities related to this position. Oversee of MBA society budget and activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
- MBA required. CHRP designation or similar preferred.
- 3-5 years' professional experience in either the academic or corporate context. Experience with professional/personal development programming, conflict resolution and project management considered an asset.
- Familiar with an academic environment considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are necessary.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, and also to manage responsibilities independently.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, manage multiple projects at one time and develop and maintain relationships required.
