The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Program Evaluator with New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data & Training (NB-IRDT). This is a term ending March 18, 2022, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $50,930 - $66,207 per annum.
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Transfer Unit (MEKTU) is the result of a partnership between NB-IRDT and the New Brunswick Aging Secretariat. The unit coordinates the active program evaluation of funded projects under the Healthy Seniors Pilot Project. The unit is also tasked with monitoring the on-going deployment of approved projects and providing regular reports to the Province of New Brunswick, as well as ensuring the effective knowledge dissemination of the results of funded projects to stakeholders and interested parties, provincially, nationally and internationally.
- Analyze statistics and evaluation findings, as well as prepare evaluation and monitoring reports.
- Conduct extensive interviews with project proponents to obtain information on their applied research projects.
- Advise and guide project proponents on challenges or issues arising.
- Provide feedback on progress against intended objectives.
- Develop project evaluation plans for recommended government projects in collaboration with New Brunswick government departments.
- Provide in-depth assessments of community project evaluation plans.
- Advise project proponents of necessary requirements to ensure their evaluation plans meet established standards prior to being funded by government.
- Develop the evaluation frameworks, reports and data collection tools (surveys, questionnaires) the unit will use in their interactions with project proponents.
- Interpret and present monitoring and evaluation results to government officials and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice to the Associate Director on evaluation activities.
- Supervise research assistants and junior program evaluators.
- Prepare and deliver training workshops to project proponents on the evaluation framework and reporting guidelines.
- Represent the unit on external committees.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public/Business Administration or equivalent education and experience. Master's degree is considered an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience for candidates.
- Demonstrated experience in program evaluation is required.
- Experience in preparing & analyzing progress reports is required & experience in project management would be an asset.
- Ability to prioritize work, apply standards and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office and other software packages.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team Ability to deal with a wide variety of people in a professional manner.
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French language skills are an asset.
- Travel within the Province of New Brunswick will be required.
