The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Production & Marketing Coordinator with Faculty of Arts: Department of English. This is a part-time (28 hours per week) 1 year term position with the PTSU employee group. The position is funded by external monies with a salary range of $18.49 - $22.93 per hour.
The Production and Marketing Coordinator will coordinate the production of each issue, including typesetting and layout, and they will liaison with the printers. They will create marketing materials as directed and will coordinate promotional events, as well as performing other administrative tasks as required.
Position summary:
- Perform the tasks related to the pre-press production of the journals, including layout, typesetting, and liaising with printers.
- Design brochures, flyers and other print and online marketing materials.
- Assist in the planning of and take the lead on implementation of fundraising campaigns, subscription drives, marketing plans, and other events promoting the journals, including occasional workshops and conferences.
- Assist in the maintenance and development of journals' web resources including the journals' websites and social media accounts.
- Assist the Managing Editor in supervising work-study students, graduate assistants, student interns, and volunteers (ensuring that they are aware of their schedules, that they have the information required to do their work, tracking and reporting their progress to the Managing Editor).
- Other miscellaneous tasks including assisting with grant applications and reports, performing tasks related to subscription mail-outs of both journals, and maintaining various filing systems related to production and marketing.
Requirements/Skills:
- A college diploma in graphic design OR an office/business administration college diploma or BA with one to three years of related experience OR the equivalent on-the-job training and experience.
- Familiarity with design software (eg InDesign, Photoshop) is crucial. Familiarity with MS Office, esp. Word and Excel is required.
- Training or experience in graphic design and production.
