The University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ) welcomes applications for the position of Global Child Program Coordinator with the Faculty of Science, Applied Science and Engineering. This is a term position part-time (21.75 hours per week) until the end of December, moving to full-time (36.25 hour per week) until the end of the term, June 30, 2021. The position is funded by external monies with a salary range of $20.04 - $25.05 per hour.

The program coordinator of GlobalChild will be based onsite at the UNBSJ campus and report directly to the principal investigator (Pl) of the GlobalChild.
Position summary:
- Manage the team to ensure that deliverables of all projects are completed within budget and on time.
- Anticipate potential issues and develop innovative action plans with recommendations for effective solutions, communicate these plans to the Pl.
- Initiate and contribute to the development of significant deliverables and documents for the program, including funding proposals, research ethics applications, publications and reports.
- Contribute to the direction of and facilitate project strategic planning activities.
- Manage procurement processes and contract administration.
- Serve as a central point of contact between the GlobalChild team at UNBSJ, steering committee, co-applicants, collaborators, and funding agencies.
- Track project status and provide regular status reports to the Pl.
- Oversee the work of, and provide feedback and support to, several support staff, contracted personnel and trainees, both onsite and offsite.
- Ensure that all applicable institutional policies and procedures of UNB are adhered to and all research procedures and processes are conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements of the university and the funders.
- Complete operational and ethics review documents (as needed).
- Oversee the management of project communications tools, website, newsletters and social media platforms.
- Responsible to work with and maintain research budget using the tracking systems at UNB.
- Administrative duties pertaining to all aspects of the project, including UNB forms, and processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
- Minimum level of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
- 2-5 years' experience managing programs with multi-disciplinary research projects and teams.
- Functional knowledge of regulations relating to the conduct of research (including research ethics, information security/confidentiality) and tri-agency policies and guidelines.
- Familiarity with children's rights or child development would be an asset
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with high profile partners from varying sectors including academic, government and international agencies.
- Ability to provide strong leadership and supervision to personnel from the research team.
- Effective critical analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to recognize when to take initiative and when to seek guidance.
- Capacity to multi-task, function under tight and/or competing deadlines, and adjust activities to meet changing priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Organized with accuracy and attention to detail.
