The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Research Engineer with the Faculty of Engineering: Off-Site Construction Research Centre (OCRC). This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week)1-year term position, with the PTSU employee group. The position is funded by external monies with a salary range of $47,329 - $61,526 per annum (a market differential may apply).
The Research Engineer works closely with the Research Team and is responsible for coordinating research projects, supporting preparation of technical reports, providing guidance on software and hardware needs, and aiding the Innovation Director in the operations of the Centre.
Position summary:
- Provide technical support to the research team.
- Liaise with industry partners.
- Create project management plans, review technical reports, and manage timeline of projects.
- Write and review funding applications.
- Provide input on the research roadmap of the OCRC.
- Support all OCRC staff with hardware and software needs, including scheduling demos from vendors or offering tutorials.
- Support the OCRC in organizing events and preparing technical content for the events.
- Manage and support the IT and physical infrastructure as needed for both the OCRC and Department of Civil Engineering.
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. A Master's degree would be an asset.
- 5 years' experience in engineering, including research experience.
- Background in engineering consulting and a Professional Engineer designation would be an asset.
- Skills in supply chain analysis, BIM, database, programming (e.g. SQL, Visual Studios, etc.) and private industry experience would be an asset.
