The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Research Coordinator with the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week), term position ending October 31, 2022 with the PTSU employee group. The position is funded by external monies with a salary range of $43,145 - $53,939 per annum.
The Research Coordinator's activities fall entirely under the NB-PALM research project of the Healthy Senior's Pilot Project (HSPP). The Research Coordinator (RC) is a UNB position that will work with the NB-PALM Project Manager (PM, UNB position) and Project Research Coordinator (PC, Horizon Health Network (HHN) position), as well as other study staff and investigators, to implement and execute NB-PALM project protocols. This will include assistance with the preparation and dissemination of study materials, scheduling interventions and assessments, coordinating the flow of information and data, and supporting the technical needs of study participants.
Position summary:
- Prepare and disseminate study materials. Ensure study participants receive study kits in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with study staff delivering the interventions and conducting assessments to schedule participants according to protocol requirements, and documenting protocol deviations.
- Monitor constant flow of day-to-day information related to the delivery of interventions and outcomes assessments, such as routine logging of scheduled appointments with participants, validating and uploading study data to data repository.
- Escalate adverse reporting by study staff and participants.
- Manage the NB-PALM Help Desk, facilitate solutions, and escalate tickets when required.
Requirements/Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or Health Sciences Research. Preference will be given to individuals with a Master's degree in Kinesiology or Health Sciences Research. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Prior experience (minimum of 3 years cumulative) with research project coordination and execution, preferably with experience working with an older population.
- Analytical and critical thinking, and the ability to solve problems.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, strong communication and writing skills are required for this position.
