The University of New Brunswick welcomes applications for the position of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Resource Developer with the Human Rights & Positive Environment Office. This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week) 8 month term position. The position is funded by external monies with an hourly range of $21.42 - $26.78 per hour.
The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Resource Developer will be a creative communicator responsible for researching EDI-related information and developing multiple instructional tools to improve EDI training at UNB.
Position summary:
- Research and develop multiple EDI resources to be distributed for use as needed. These resources will be designed for clarity, ease of comprehension, and suitability for distribution, and will include tools such as an EDI handbook for hiring committees, equity issue summaries, infographics, training manuals, PowerPoint presentations, checklists, templates, and flow charts.
- Responsible to compile EDI-related information from current, reputable sources (e.g. scholarly research, post-secondary institutions, equity-focused organizations).
- Improve EDI training at UNB, through knowledge, education, and the creation of resources.
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing, Adult Education, or related field with a minimum of two years' work experience in a related field.
- Experience in education and/or research dissemination/ knowledge mobilization, and who demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice.
- Core equity competencies and experience working towards anti-racism and equity education.
- Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office software and Adobe Creative Suite (or similar).
- Knowledge of principles of adult education considered a strong asset.
