The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Program Coordinator with the Faculty of Management: International Business and Entrepreneurship Centre (IBEC). This is a term full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with the PTSU employee group ending July 1, 2023. The position is funded by the University Budget with a salary range of $35,895 - $44,870 per annum.
IBEC is an integral part of the Faculty of Management. The Centre aims to develop and support entrepreneurial leadership among students by facilitating the delivery of experiential programs such as the Venture Analyst Program and through the hosting of events such as the Apex Business Plan Competition, DataVisualization Competition, Business Analytics Competition and Speaker Series.
Position summary:
- Develop, plan, budget, and organize all aspects of several student competitions and initiatives which will include the Apex Business Plan Competition and student participation in Creative Destruction Labs programs.
- Coordinate all experiential aspects of the Venture Assessment course including the Student Venture Fund.
- Coordinate student participation in the VCIC competition.
- Develop and coordinate all aspects of a Sustainability Conference.
- Program management of the Venture Analyst Program and/or Activator program.
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to students associated with the Centre.
- Provide support to the multi-section Business Planning and Entrepreneurship course. Work with the Program Officer to seek external funding.
- Prepare annual reports of coordinated activities and operations.
- Create and co-ordinate student trips and competitive events for students involved with the Centre.
- Organize information sessions for faculty and students and coordinate all aspects of the recruiting functions for the Centre.
- Seek opportunities for the Centre to expand its offerings in the areas of Venture Creation and Commercialization, Investment.
- Other responsibilities that will be assigned by the Dean.
Requirements/Skills:
- Priority will be given to individuals with a Bachelor's degree, preferably BBA or a related field. Other candidates with a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experiential courses in entrepreneurship and suitable entrepreneurship related work experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, superior judgement, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent relationship building skills, team builder, goal and detail oriented.
- Contacts in the business world or ability to build contacts that can be converted to sponsors.
- Experience in organizing and managing events.
- Experience in working closely in a team setting.
