The University of New Brunswick Saint John welcomes applications for the position of Experiential Learning Coordinator with the Office of Experiential Learning. This is a?part-time (20 hours per week) one-year term?position with the PTSU employee group. The position is funded by the external monies with a salary range of $22.88 - $29.74 per hour.
The Experiential Learning Coordinator will work closely with and report jointly to the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Saint John and the Director of Experiential Education to support experiential learning initiatives for undergraduate students in all three Faculties on the Saint John campus. The Coordinator will build capacity in Saint John and surrounding communities for student experiential learning opportunities. The Experiential Learning Coordinator will work as part of a team to advocate for experiential learning on and off campus, and leverage internal expertise, resources, and relationships.
Position summary:
- Work with units, departments, and faculties to offer experiential education opportunities and assist in the development and growth of new opportunities.
- Build on a successful pilot internship program in the Faculty of Arts by creating a campus-wide internship program for students in all three faculties on the Saint John campus.
- Collaborate with students in the development of internship opportunities including ensuring the responsibilities of partners and employers are tracked and met.
- Work closely with the Office of Experiential Education to ensure a bi-campus commitment to experiential learning. This task may include operationalizing institution-wide initiatives for the Saint John campus, and ensuring that strategic priorities of the Office of Experiential Education are upheld for the Saint John campus.
- Liaise with internal offices including Marketing, Communications, faculties, and the AVP and VP offices on the Saint John campus, in connection with the Director of Experiential Education.
- Gather and collate reporting, track outcomes and participation in experiential learning on the Saint John campus.
- Other administrative duties, as required.
Requirements/Skills:
- University degree or near completion in a relevant field.
- Experience in project coordination, community outreach, relationship building, and/or experiential education projects an asset. Knowledge of experiential education an asset.
- Exceptional professional communications skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent time-management skills.
- Self-directed and able to work independently.
- superior written and verbal presentation skills
