The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Secretary PL4 with the Faculty of Computer Science. This is a term full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with the SALAC employee group. The position is funded by the external monies with a salary range of $20.10 - $23.34 per hour.
This position is responsible for coordinating the administrative, operational and technical duties at the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) and acts as the initial contact person by providing accurate information on matters relating to the CIC.

Position summary:
- Act as the first point of contact for welcoming CIC visitors and assist them with their inquiries. Maintain office records, including all industry and government related R&D.
- Provide accurate information to faculty, students, staff, industry partners, and the general public on matters involving CIC.
- Coordinate interaction with UNB's Communication Office and with the media. Assist with writing proposals, news releases, and technical documents and update and maintain web pages and social media.
- Prepare and process internal forms, purchase orders, expense claims, invoices, etc. for various operations and research accounts.
- Coordinate outreach activities, including visits to CIC and CIC's involvement in the community. Coordinate special initiatives, such as the visiting speaker's series, visiting faculty, students and industry.
- Preparation of reports, meeting agendas and minutes, the maintenance of CIC records and official files.
- Oversee financial reporting.
- Act as liaison with external agencies, internal UNB departments with respect to grants, contracts and quarterly/annual financial reporting information.
- Liaise with the Vice-Presidents offices, Office of Research Services, Human Resources and other university departments regarding administrative matters, ensure compliance with all university policies and procedures related to administration including all outside organizations.
- Manage the Directors schedule including making appointments, screen and prioritize requests.
- Responsible for all matters regarding Coop opportunities through the SEED Program with Department of Post-Secondary Education Training and Labour.
- Assist with process for recruitment of full-time faculty and other CIC positions, member of recruiting committee.
- General administrative duties. Other duties as assigned by director.
Requirements/Skills:
- A university degree or diploma in a relevant discipline with at least 5 years related experience, particularly working in an environment that utilizes electronic information systems.
- Demonstrated involvement in writing proposals, news releases, and technical documents.
- Willingness to assume new tasks in an active research and development environment.
- Positive and eager attitude that will bring energy to CIC activities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of financial accounting software would be an asset.
- Fluency in French (verbal and written) would be an asset.
