The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin 1 July 2024. Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology or a related discipline, or a strong prospect of completion before July 2024, and a solid research and publication record in the areas of classical and contemporary sociological theory. The sub-areas of specialization are open, and applicants should demonstrate a potential for excellence in teaching.
The department offers both undergraduate and graduate (MA and PhD) programs. Department members engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching and research, and community involvement is considered an asset. The department supports a variety of theoretical and methodological orientations.
