The Department of Humanities and Languages at the University of New Brunswick Saint John invites applications for a two-year term position with the possibility of a one-year renewal, depending on applicants' availability. This is a cross-appointment between French and Education at the rank of Assistant Teaching. The appointment will commence on 1 July 2023 and is subject to budgetary approval.

Candidates must have a BEd, be a licensed teacher, and also have successfully completed a Master's Degree (MEd preferred but other Graduate degrees will be considered). In addition, the candidate should have at least 5 years' experience teaching within the New Brunswick public education system in the area of French Second language (French Immersion and Intensive French programming). The successful candidate will have certified documentation of French Oral Proficiency at the Superior level, as they will be involved in creating and delivering a new course focused on Teaching within a French Immersion context, as well as other French courses such as FREN 2208 which provides FSL training and prepares students for the NB Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, Linguistic Services Oral Proficiency Test as well as for bilingualism examinations. The successful candidate will also support the English-language BA/BEd program by teaching a total of 3 Education methodology courses each academic year drawn from the following: Teaching Elementary Math, Teaching Elementary Science, Teaching Elementary Social Studies, and/or Introduction to Visual Education for Elementary Students.
