UNB Libraries invites applications for two tenure track positions on the Fredericton campus with responsibilities focused on the STEM disciplines. As members of the UNB Libraries team, each of the incumbents will report to the Dean of Libraries with responsibilities overseen by the Associate Dean, Director of Student Success, and the Director of Collections Strategies and Scholarly Communication. The incumbents will provide expertise as liaison librarians, each with specific disciplinary responsibilities in the STEM Faculties of Computer Science, Engineering, and Science. Responsibilities include discipline-specific library instruction for undergraduate and graduate students in individual, group and class settings, expert research and information services. Liaison librarians are responsible for engaging and informing the university community informed on relevant topics including, but not limited to, scholarly communication developments (e.g., open access publishing, knowledge transfer, author profiles). As members of disciplinary teams, liaison librarians are responsible for developing and curating collections to meet research and learning needs. Each of the two incumbents will be assigned a specific role with respect to either open scholarship, data management, and publishing in the STEM disciplines OR geographic information systems (GIS) resources, including geospatial data and software. In addition, these roles will undertake service and leadership activities locally, regionally, and potentially beyond as circumstances require and allow. These positions demand a high degree of flexibility, creativity, ability to innovate, adapt and thrive in a university environment undergoing significant internal transformation, strong commitment to growing research, and ongoing adaptation to the changing needs of our students and faculty researchers.

Librarians participate in the development of UNB Libraries programs, services, policy, and procedures. Responsibility for the coordination and management of staff, students, services, or projects may be required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. The nature and scope of responsibilities for this and other library positions are expected to change as the Library organization evolves.
