The Department of English at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton invites applications for a 9-month term appointment at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, to start 1 August 2022, subject to final budgetary approval. Applicants are expected to have a PhD in English or be near completion. The position is designed for an individual with training and interests in Early Modern Drama. The successful candidate will teach six in-person undergraduate courses (3 Fall, 3 Winter), including upper-level courses in Early Modern Dramatic Literature as well as a second-year historical survey of literature to 1660, a second-year course on Shakespeare and Film, and two sections of a first-year writing-skills course.
A small, research-intensive department with a reputation for high-quality teaching located on unceded Wolastoqey lands in New Brunswick's capital city, UNB's Department of English offers a wide range of programs in English literature, drama, creative writing, and film.
