The Faculty of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) commencing 1st of September 2022, subject to budgetary approval. To be considered for the position, the applicant must have a PhD degree in Electrical, Software, Computer, Information Technology Engineering, or other related engineering discipline. Research and teaching pursuits within a broad range of ECE are of interest to the department, as is improving our gender balance. UNB's ECE department has large research groups in the areas of biomedical/health sciences and smart energy which afford collaboration opportunities, but we are also seeking to broaden our scope of research into new and emerging areas. The candidate is expected to work towards developing a strong externally funded research program along with teaching, graduate student supervision, and academic service. The University of New Brunswick has approximately 6,700 full-time students and 475 faculty members at its Fredericton campus. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering hosts approximately 270 undergraduate students, 66 graduate students and 14 faculty members; and offers undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering (in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer Science). The Department is an active participant in an accredited software Co-Op program that places students in work terms across Canada.
