The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick Saint John invites applications for an 8-month limited term Assistant Teaching Professor appointment in mathematics, commencing August 29, 2022. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate should hold a PhD. (or be near completion) in Mathematics. Applicants with a master's degree in Mathematics and a strong record in teaching university level Mathematics may also be considered.

The Mathematics and Statistics Department consists of seven full-time faculty members. We offer Majors in Mathematics and in Statistics and maintain a graduate programme. UNB Saint John has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and training. The successful applicant will be expected to teach three courses per term at the introductory and senior undergraduate levels in mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating excellence in teaching and potential for undergraduate project supervision.

Complete applications must include (a) a cover letter, (b) curriculum vitae, and (c) evidence of teaching effectiveness not to exceed five pages. Applicants must also arrange to have three letters of reference submitted directly to the Department, with a minimum of two such letters addressing the applicant's teaching ability and experience.
