The Department of Humanities & Languages at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John invites applications for a tenure-track position in French Literature. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is housed within an interdisciplinary department that includes English, Philosophy, French, Spanish, and Linguistics. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2022.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in French (or all doctoral requirements and successful defense completed before the time of the appointment). The successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of excellence in university teaching and research. Teaching assignments will be at the undergraduate level and the teaching load will include introductory courses and upper-level undergraduate classes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in African, Caribbean and Antilles literatures of French expression, in postcolonial theories and in literature and film in international Francophonie.
