The Department of Humanities and Languages at the University of New Brunswick Saint John invites applications for a 4-month term position in French at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will commence on January 4, 2022 and is subject to budgetary approval.

The qualifications for appointment at the level of Assistant Professor include a Doctorate Degree in French. Candidates with a Doctorate in French nearing completion will be considered for appointment as Lecturer. The candidate must also have experience teaching French as a second language. The successful candidate will be part of the language discipline and a small team of academics teaching undergraduate courses in French and will teach 3 courses in the winter term. The successful candidate will have an active research profile and teaching experience in the field of Post-Colonial literature and will be responsible teaching the following courses: FREN 2304: French for Immersion II; FREN 3525: Francophone Storytelling; and FREN 4534: Francophone Films and Postcolonial Perspective.
