The Department of Social Science at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John invites applications for an eight-month term appointment in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will commence on August 24, 2020, and is subject to budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate level, including: Introduction to Sociology, Sociology of Health, Illness and Healing and Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences. Other teaching assignments will be determined in consultation with the Department. The Department of Social Science offers major, double-major, and honours programmes in sociology. Candidates must have a PhD in Sociology, specialization in Sociology of Health is preferred. A relevant research agenda is required. The successful candidate will be expected to be engaged in a program of research, scholarly, or creative activity within their area of expertise for the duration of this term appointment.
