The Department of Anthropology at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the subfield of sociocultural anthropology. The successful candidate will have a specialization in environmental anthropology, and a methodologically robust program of research using qualitative and/or quantitative research methods. The successful candidate will complement the well-established interdisciplinary research strengths in the Department of Anthropology including natural and cultural resource management, legal anthropology, coastal communities, the past, present and future human response to climate change, Indigenous anthropology, and community-based research. Our department approaches these topics through various experiential learning opportunities including field programs, research labs, community engaged research, and co-managed research with Indigenous communities. The successful candidate will complement these strengths, and introduce new experiential learning and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.

Candidates should hold a PhD in Anthropology, demonstrate excellence in teaching and research, and actively participate in departmental and university service. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's MA program with opportunities to teach and supervise as part of UNB's interdisciplinary MA and PhD programs.
