Function

Reporting to the Senior Director of IT Operations, The Information Technology Coordinator plays a primary role in liaising with the UNB community to advance low to medium complexity IT related portfolio requests and identify where existing or easily adopted technologies may address IT needs; coordinate the resolution of complex IT problems or the implementation of new technologies/services where a Project Manager has not been assigned.
Representative Responsibilities
·   Liaise with UNB Community by regularly meeting with ITS stakeholders to maintain high level awareness of related community needs, industry trends, product roadmaps, and industry standards; assuring alignment with existing strategies and ITS capacity; identifying innovation opportunities; providing input to the Capital Spending list.
·   Coordinate Technical Resources by leading high-performance teams by ensuring the purpose is clear, roles and responsibilities are communicated, team members work effectively together, developing and managing team members and by evaluating individual and team performance.
·   Support the ITS project and initiative intake process by gathering high level information in order to triage and scope proposals, assessing proposal alignment with UNB strategic plan/ITS strategic plan/ITS operational needs, capturing the identified business need and impact, evaluating the proposal feasibility, assessing ITS resource requirements to execute the proposal, ensuring related UNB standards are being followed, creating an overall summary to assist in approval and prioritization process and recommending improvements to the intake process
·   Analyze, Monitor, Report, Improve by using the Balance Scorecard methodology to monitor and report on services and architectures associated with web, mobility and security awareness  targets such as availability, effectiveness, capacity, usage against defined thresholds by ensuring metrics are gathered, analyzed, and reported, results are understood and used for iterative improvement
·   Use interpersonal skills that contribute to successful personal and team performance.
·   Participate in project teams as an effective team member and complete independent projects successfully.
Requirements
·    A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area with a focus in Information Technology.
·    8 years progressive experience managing people with 5 years in technology and/or IT service management.
·    Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
·    Proven record in developing successful teams and the human aspect of managing transition
·    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
·    Able to work independently or as part of a team
·    Awareness of privacy laws and practices.
·    Excellent time management skills.
·    Some travel between campuses (Fredericton and Saint John) is required.
·    Must be willing to work occasional overtime and have hours adjusted for evening and weekend activities.
