The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic research communication competition that was developed by the University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia. The goal: To promote the development of graduate students’ presentation and communication skills. The challenge: To effectively explain their research and its significance to a non-specialist audience in three minutes.
The University of New Brunswick is proud to host the 2017 Eastern Regional Three Minute Thesis Competition on April 20, 2017.
UNB will select its representative on April 07, 2017. Both competitions are free and open to the public. Please join us!
3MT was developed in 2008 and now takes place at more than 350 universities around the world. The first 3MT competition was held in Canada in 2011. Currently, graduate students who win their university’s competition compete in one of three regional competitions. Recordings of the top presentations from each region are forwarded to a virtual national competition hosted by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies. A Canadian champion is chosen from 11 finalists.
