Reopen timeline

As URec reopens, all programs, services & facility access will follow a phased reopening approach.

Phase One – starting Tuesday, Aug. 4

Strength Centre spaces; strength, cardio & stretch areas available

  • First floor Strength Centre capacity: 6 members
  • Third floor Strength Centre capacity: 34 members

Indoor track (2nd floor, CURRIE CENTER); only walking permitted (no jogging)

  • Indoor track capacity: 10 members

SMA Pool; lap swim & dive tank only

  • Lap swim capacity: 6 members (1 swimmer per lane)
  • Dive tank capacity: 3 members
  • Occupational testing; including PARE & FFE

Phase Two – Date TBD 

New Changes

  • Capcity at the CURRIE CENTER will increase to 30 members per booking
  • Capacity at the SMA Pool for Lap Swim has increased to 12 members per booking
  • Booking in advance is still required
  • Locker rooms (lockers & showers)?

  • Available Equipment: Basketballs & Soccer Balls only. Members are encouraged to bring their own equipment

  • Lap swim capacity: 9 members (3 swimmers per lane)
  • Dive tank capacity: 3 members
  • Occupational testing; including PARE & FFE

Group Fitness

Personal training, fitness testing & Living Well with Diabetes Initiative

Phase Three – Date TBD

  • Intramural programs & sport clubs
  • Other programs (Fee-based programs & children's swim lessons)
