Test Accommodation Procedures

  • Students approved for test and exam accommodations must submit the online Test/Examination Accommodation Form three business days prior to a test
  • Once the form is received, the student's name is added to the schedule and a room is booked for the student to write his/her test/exam.
  • A few days prior to the test/exam, an email is sent by the Test/Exam Coordinator to the instructor with details about the test/exam request and delivery instructions. This email is also to inquire about any special instructions for the adminstration of the assessment, such as the duration of the test/exam, permitted aids or materials, etc.
  • Instructors are asked to submit a copy of the requested test/exam to the Accessibility Centre no later than 24 hours prior to the regular scheduled time.
  • Accommodated test/exams that are written at the Centre are at the same time as the rest of the class unless alternate arrangements are made with the instructor.
  • Class Conflicts due to Extra-Time for Tests:  A student who requires extra-time for writing tests is not expected or required to miss class time in a course that immediately follows the class in which the test is being written. A student may choose to miss class time. The student must indicate if his/her test accommodations of extra-time will cause a conflict in his/her class schedule and if he/she wishes to make alternate arrangements. If yes, the student will write the test at an alternate time mutually agreeable to the student, instructor, and SAC.
  • Completed tests and Final Exams are hand delivered to the departmental office on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons before 4 pm.  The instructor can come and pick up test or exams during our office hours.
