Inorganic chemistry

C. Adam DykerWe are interested in both inorganic and organic chemistries. Fundamental studies focus on using “chemical tricks” to isolate new molecules, or to make compounds with unique or improved properties. We also have applied projects, including developing environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries based on organic molecules. Ideally these will replace more expensive and toxic battery systems that are based on heavy metals, and could be used in power tools and hybrid vehicles.
