Application Process

This Transitional Summer Internship in Biological Research is generously supported by John Tidswell, a former employee and continuing contributor to the Department of Biology at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Throughout his career John has been committed to taking the University to high schools in order to better prepare students for their transition to higher education. This internship is designed to accelerate that process by providing a deserving student with the opportunity to work directly in a research setting in Biology at UNBF prior to starting his/her university degree.

The internship provides a student with eight weeks of salary support during the months of July and August. The successful applicant will be introduced to our research environment by actively participating in a project(s) that best suits his/her interests.

This internship is open to all graduating grade 12 students who will be initiating a degree in Biology at UNBF in September of the same year. Students interested in the internship must apply to the Department of Biology by 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2019 providing a resume, transcript of marks, and a letter outlining his/her key interests and career aspirations in the biological sciences.
