Early arrivals - Applies to Fall Term Only (early arrival requests are not possible for the winter term).

We are only able to offer early check-ins to students belonging to approved early arrival groups.

Group leaders (coach, faculty, staff, etc.) are responsible for making early arrival requests and acting as the main point of contact for Residence, as well as being a resource and contact for their students regarding arriving early to residence and associated early arrival fees.

All early arrival requests must be submitted by July 15 (by the group leader) and a full list of students requiring early accommodations must be provided no later than August 1

Approved early arrival categories include:

  • early academic requirements
  • varsity athletes
  • campus leadership training
  • new international students attending international student orientation

Fall early arrival fees

Students granted approval to arrive prior to the official move-in dates for Residence are responsible for paying all daily early arrival room and dining fees (as these early arrival dates fall outside of the annual residence contract period and therefore are subject to an early arrival fee. These fees will be added to each student's UNB account unless your group leader has arranged to cover these fees. We do extend a 48 hour grace period prior to the official residence move-in date for your early arrival room fee, (this grace period does not apply to the daily early arrival dining fee).

Unable to arrive on your approved early move-in date?

Students who have been granted permission to arrive early as part of an approved group, must advise Residence a minium of 48 hours prior to their approved move-in date if they will not be arriving, or will be arriving later than expected.  Failure to notifiy Residence 48 hours in advance will result in the full early arrival room and dining charges levied to your UNB student account in accordance with your original early arrival approval date.
