Parent and supporter events

If you’re planning to be in Fredericton for Check-In Day on Saturday, August 31 please join us for Commencement.

Lemonade Reception - 2:30 p.m.

On August 31 at 2:30 p.m., Dr. George MacLean, UNB Vice-President Academic, will host a Lemonade Reception for parents and supporters of students new to UNB.

This casual event is a great opportunity for family and friends to meet Dr. MacLean, and each other, as their students begin their academic journeys together.

Commencement – 3:30 p.m. – Richard J CURRIE CENTER

Each year, new students are celebrated and welcomed to UNB during the Commencement ceremony – an important tradition that inducts students into academia and UNB’s culture and community.

Hosted by Dr. Paul Mazerolle, UNB President and Vice-Chancellor, the ceremony highlights the university’s vision and values and serves as a chance to welcome our newest students to the UNB family.

Commencement and graduation act as bookends to the academic journey; rituals to remember long after a student’s time on campus when they move forward into the world as UNB alumni.

Some families prefer to drive to Fredericton a day or two before Orientation begins. You may want to make your reservations early.
