Welcome to the Faculty of Kinesiology

We look forward to learning about you and with you!

Whether you have been accepted into the Bachelor of Recreation and Sport Studies or the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, or whether you plan to enroll full-time or part-time in your degree program, you are now considered part of the Faculty of Kinesiology and we are so glad you chose to join us!

Your faculty (professors/instructors), staff (academic advisors, administrative assistants, lab technicians) and peers (KIN Society, peer mentors, all current students) are looking forward to meeting you and helping you navigate through your academic journey in Kinesiology.

Dean's welcome and question period

We understand starting a university program is a big step and we realize you and your parents/supporters may like to learn more about the faculty and may have questions you would like to ask. As such, we will be hosting a Faculty Welcome on Saturday, May 29th at 1:00pm AST (as part of SOAR). The Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology, Dr. Wayne Albert, and Assistant Dean Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Charlene Shannon-McCallum, along with first year instructors, your academic advisors and KIN Society will be present during this virtual Teams meeting. Click here to join or meeting link can also be found on the UNB SOAR page.

Academic advising / course registration

Each faculty at UNB has their own process for course advising and registration. In Kinesiology, we provide individual advising via email to start. You will receive an email the week after SOAR with course registration advice from kin@unb.ca to your personal email account. This correspondence will include steps to follow in order to register for your first-year courses.

If you do not receive this information via email, or have any questions about next steps upon reviewing the registration information, please let us know by contacting kin@unb.ca. Your academic advisors, Brandi Cameron and Jaime Campbell, are happy to help and will respond to your inquiry in a timely manner.

Opportunities to learn more about KIN

At this point, we also want to let you know you can find the Faculty of Kinesiology on Twitter (@KinUNB), Instagram (kin_unb), and Facebook (KinUNB)... And, for this year only, we welcome you to join a unique Facebook group created just for you and your new incoming peers in Kinesiology.

As social distancing requirements do not allow in person spring orientation, we wanted to provide an opportunity for you to connect and get to know your kinesiology peers, academic advisors and faculty throughout the summer months. We hope you choose to join us on Facebook: KIN Incoming Class of 2021
