Key & Locksmith Services
Facilities Management is responsible for the routine maintenance of keys, locks and lock cores for all faculty and administrative buildings throughout the campus. Requests for key & locksmith services in the residence buildings should be forward though Residential Life & Conference Services.
In special cases such as space relocation, renovation or construction, capital/project accounts will be charged for locks installed, removed or rekeyed as part of capital or departmentally funded alterations projects.
Key or Lock Problems?
Key or lock problems should be directed to the Work Control Centre by having your department representative put in a work order request through our Online Work Order Request Form available through e-Services.
Need a Key?
Faculty and Staff needing keys are now required to put in a work order request for keys. Please have you department representative put in a work order request through our Online Work Order Request Form available through e-Services.
Please allow 7 – 10 days for completion. No key request will be processed without the proper authorization by the Department’s Administration.
Facilities Management will contact the Key Recipient when the key(s) are ready for distribution. Keys are to be picked-up from the Stores Counter, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (staff breaks are at 9:45 -10:00, 12:00-12:30 and 2:30-2 :45) Keys should be picked-up by the individual who is receiving the key(s). UNB ID must be shown, and the work order must be signed.
Lost Your Key?
In the event that your keys have been lost or stolen it is important that you have your department representative put in a work order request as soon as possible. Please provide full details regarding what keys were lost and when they were lost.
Upgrades required as a result of lost or stolen keys or a department's failure to maintain adequate key control will be charged to the department.
