This three-day conference, hosted by the Faculty of Arts at UNB Fredericton, will explore various themes in the history of Swedish and Canadian health and society with a view to expanding transnational scholarly engagement across the Transatlantic North.
In partnership with the University of Gothenberg, this symposium will bring together an interdisciplinary group of researchers and historians of medicine, health and social service systems, as well as health practices and practitioners. Researchers from Lund University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the University of Prince Edward Island will also attend.
15 speakers will present original research papers that bring the history of these two regions together, through a discussion of the evolution of health care and social services.
